Postcards From Turkey

The most precious postcards I’ve ever received!

My boyfriend sends me postcards. But these two were special because of two reasons:

THE FIRST REASON

The postcards are not regular postcards. They are thicker than usual, and it makes them so special for me. My guy even wrote on the postcards, that we’re going to print our postcards on paper like this, so it will be high quality. This card is from Ankara, the statue of Zafer Aniti. I love it so much! It is special and precious to me, but I have to admit, I do love the other postcard more.

THE SECOND REASON

I looked at this postcard after I read the first one. And I thought: aww this one is from Istanbul. From Kiz Kulesi (Mainden’s Tower). And I turned to see the back, and to see what my baby wrote for me. But, I saw someone else’s handwriting. It was his mums. Baby, she has a better handwriting than you do hehe 🙂 She said a lot about Kiz Kulesi. She explained how it’s in Instanbul in the middle of the Marmara sea and you can see it from both the European and Asian side of the city. There is a restaurant on the first floor and a cafe on the second. I really love my boyfriend’s mum.

Guys, thank you for the postcards! I love you!

Neat & Keen – The Great Crane Giveaway

I received something very unusual. It was a brown envelope and when I opened it a brochure came out of it and The Great Crane Postcard. I honestly don’t remember how I applied for this, or how it came to me, but I am so glad it did!

The 5 x 7 inch origami crane is a 3-color silkscreen print signed, numbered, and printed by hand at Neat & Keen Studios by John Everett Morton in DeKalb, IL. While 1000 is quite a bit for a limited edition print, it relates to the Japanese tradition of folding 1000 origami cranes in return for good luck or one wish granted.

This is my favourite card! It’s all handmade and he made it by himself. There are so many things I feel like saying, and I don’t think I have enough words to say thank you!

You brighten up my day, and you are always here when I need you, and I love how you put your hair spiked on the front, but why isn’t my hair red? Or blonde? Oh wait, I know, it’s because I change the color so often haha ^^

Thank you, G! You are so adorable, but you already know it :*

The best of Canada in a single envelope

Before I begin… /u/TwerpTwo, how can I thank you? What you did is crazy. Indeed. 19 postcards in a single envelope? You are my angel! Seriously!!!

The Prairies in Canada. A Prairie rainbow. A wonderful view and an incredible nature.

image

The Canadian moose is the undisputed king of the antler world. To many people, it seems kind of ugly, but to me, I bet he wants cuddles hehe 😀

image

Greetings from Brandon, Manitoba. I like the way this card is printed. Those little squares and all different sides of the city. It is amazing and very creative. I love it.

image

Rocky Mountain Elk. Is he posing? I find this so adorable, and I don’t even know why 😀 I think the elk is so cute

Equestrian training was discontinued in 1966, but the mounted tradition remains alive in The RCMP Musical Ride. I love those guys.

image

Canada owes much to its First Nations people, the true founders of our country. They remind me so much of those people from Peru that have similar clothing. I am in love with one song that I saw them play when I was in Cannes. “El condor pasa”. You need to hear it!

image

A field of sunflowers –  another beautiful prairie scene. I love sunflowers. They are so positive. They always turn towards the sun.

image

Grizzly Bears are omnivorous eating everything from berries to small mammals – but they are really expert fishermen. Normally a solitary animal, they congregate along streams and rivers during salmon spawns to enjoy the abundance of food.  But don’t be surprised if you see them fighting over a good fishing spot

image

The northern lights (Aurora Borealis) can be seen on a clear winter night from many parts of northern Canada. I want to see this so badly!

image

These adorable black bear cubs will grow to be big burly inhabitants of Canada’s dense bush and forest. Look at the way they kiss.  So adorable!

image

Greetings from Brandon, Manitoba again. I want to visit this city. From the postcards, it seem like there is a lot of things to visit.

image

The moose is one of Canada’s most massive mammals. A cow moose, such as this mother with her young, may weigh 360 kg (800 lbs).

image

Grain elevators are a common scene on the Prairies. I love this view. I spent 10 minutes staring at this postcard!

image

Moose are the largest member of the deer family. An adult male can stand 1.9 meters at the shoulder and weighs approximately 475 kilograms. These are truly one of nature’s gentle giants.

image

This magnificent Gray wolf (Timber wolf) is often misunderstood as an indiscriminate killer. Not true! While the wolf does kill some large game, it is mostly the old, the weak and the diseased that are taken.

image

Greetings from the Ice Hockey capital of the World – Canada. I’ve never seen an Ice Hockey game ever, and I want to go so badly, and cheer.

image

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). I love their uniform! Such a nice card.

image

Common Loon. I have never seen a loon before. And I love how it looks. It reminds me of the black swan even though they are a lot different.

image

Wonderful picture of some interesting Canadian places. It has the National anthem on the back and I am happy to write it down:

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

The Statue of Mercury – New York

US ljsweenes Statue of Mercury

Dear /u/ljsweenes,

I love this card! It shows New York in a totally different perspective. I have seen a lot of pictures, but I never seen this type of picture, and I love it! I think it is so unique and special, and such a small group of people would probably notice this in such perspective. Most of the people would probably pass by it.

I wish you all the best,

~InnahLovesYou
